Unti Vineyards

I honestly cannot remember when we started coming to Unti Vineyards. I remember how we heard of it though:

We had come to pick up wine at Dry Creek Vineyards, but had no other plans for the day (wow! that alone tells you how young we were). So we asked our host for suggestions. Little place around the corner, Italian varietals. We were intrigued; I’m pretty sure neither of us had tasted an Italian varietal before in our lives.

Unti’s tasting room is quite literally located in the middle of their vineyards. Pay attention to signed so you don’t accidentally end up in the house or the barrel room. To this day, my husband continues to try the wrong gate. If you are walking through a beautiful tunnel of wisteria(?) vines, you’re in the right place.

There’s only one tasting option ($20pp) and that includes whatever they happen to be pouring that day. We liked pretty much everything we tasted, but our favorites were the Rosé (so delightfully dry and fruity!), the Vermentino (crisp and refreshing), the Montepulciano, and the Zinfandel (I know, I know, not an Italian varietal…but when in Dry Creek :D)

I’m pretty sure we bought some Fiano while we were there, but I already drank it all. What? I won’t see the reds again for years!
