Goosecross--an update

I first wrote about Goosecross Cellars back in 2019. We haven’t been back since, but when I poured our last bottle this past January—a Petit Sarah—I figured a re-visit was due. What’s happened during the between years? Well, there was a pandemic and the Winery was sold in 2021 to Dave and Christi Ficeli. While this acquisition thankfully wasn’t to a major conglomerate, the new owners do have ties to Gallo and Coors.

Two bunches of Estate grapes.

We were greeted by a delightful yorkie (dogs are welcome!) and seated promptly in the barrel room due to the heat of the day. We were poured 5 different wines - in addition to the four listed on the official menu, we were started off with a refreshing glass of rosé. Sadly, it would appear the Viognier is no longer made and the Petit Sirah wasn’t being poured.

All of the wines were good, but Husband was irked by the price increases and only ended up letting me purchase a couple bottles of the Branta.
