Mumm Napa

Despite it being my go-to bubble bath wine, I haven’t visited Mumm Napa for years. So, when my Mom suggested we try it out with the specific intent of sampling their DVX and Grower Series, I jumped at the idea!

The flight is $75 and includes samples from the Grower Series, DVX series, and their classic house sparklings. The tasting also includes a little picnic box (gluten free!) with dried fruits, cheese, and nuts. As the name of the tasting suggests, we sat on the Oak Terrace in comfy plush chairs under patio umbrellas with a panoramic view of vineyards and the mountains in the distance.

At the end of the official tasting, our wine educator asked if there was anything else we wanted to try. I asked for a splash of the Pinot Meunier, and she readily agreed. So much fruit and so different. I ended up buying a bottle.

Note: We found that purchasing wines at the Mumm tasting room did not offer much of a discount. In fact, many of the wines we regularly purchase from BevMo or Total Wine were more expensive at Mumm. I would only suggest buying the reserve wines that you won’t find on shelves.
